I was given a citation for "driving too fast for conditions". While driving a vehicle pulled out in front of me to make a left in oncoming lane. I was able to avoid the collision and went to the right of said vehicle. I then hit a curb and left roadway stopping in a grassy area. I had my wife call the police so that I could get a report on the incident since I had no visible damage to my truck at that time. The officer me the "too fast condition" ticket and the other gentleman for "failure to yield". I got a copy of the police report which states that he did in fact pull out in front of me but says nothing about my speed (which was under the posted limit at the time of the icedent). The officer didn't witness anything nor did anyone stop. My neighbor which is an officer in another state says that he doesn't understand the judgement of this matter. I called for the fine amount and was told I have to appear in court since the officer has it as involed in accident. I am a driver for UPS and also have a CDL which I don't need moving violations on record. If additional details are needed I would be glad to provide. Wondering if I should get an Attorney or fight myself.
