I never had a rental agreement with my previous roommates and moved out because they staged a fake robbery (robbing me of over $800.00 worth of cash and possestions) and their habitual cocaine useage. After speaking with the actual landlord, he said that they are not allowed to sublease and that it clearly states that in their lease. They are suing me for remainder of rent and cleaning and keying fees that are not accurate. How do I get a copy of their lease to take to court and prove that they are not allowed to sue me? Can I get this dismissed without going to court? Can I counter sue for costs and time this matter has costed me?

Q: How do I get a copy of their lease to take to court and prove that they are not allowed to sue me?

A: You get a subpoena in the lawsuit and ask the landlord to bring it to court.

Q: Can I get this dismissed without going to court?

A: You can certainly try.

Q: Can I counter sue for costs and time this matter has costed me?

A: No.
