So yesterday I had the person I'm suing served @ him work. He was "Late again" as the manager put it, So my server gave the SC-100 Doc to the manager (being a "person I charge") with the instruction to give to the defendant when he gets in, then received his business card.
This was not a professional server, only a friend so I do not blame her, but earlier that day I had amended my claim so filed new documents. When I got home to make copies to mail to the defendants work and home i realized that the copy the court put on file (and made copies of) was not the SIGNED copy... crap.
So I called the court today and they said that it was fine and I'll just need to make sure I sign it the morning of the case... but she though the defendant needs to be RE-served with a copy signed by me (it was still signed by the clerk and stamped) in order for the service to "work".... so my question is...
Even though I'll still have to mail out copies to the defendants home and work (I believe, correct me if I'm wrong pls!) do I need to have him reserved @ work?
I only ask because he works security @ a very high end diamond retailer and I know it's SO unclassy to have an employee served in the eyes of the manager. I mean, the defendant is a jerk, but if he loses his job he won't be able to pay me, LOL. But I know he's ALSO the kind of person I use anything he can to have it dismissed...
Thank so much!
