I recently was getting my car painted. I have given a deposit of 100 to the painter, but I have cancelled the appointment due to being able to find someone cheaper.

Now they are suing me for the cost of the materials.

Have you been served with a summons and complaint?

How much money are you being sued for?

Are you required to file an answer or just appear in court on a certain date? If the former, what is the deadline date? If the latter, what is the court date?

What, exactly, are the allegations written in the complaint? Quote them word for word and I might have some suggestions for you.
