My jurisdiction is: California
My husband recently received a letter saying that he owes over a thousand dollars for pizza he ate while on the clock at a Little Caesars and if he doesn't pay it in full in twenty days, they are going to sue him. The incident happened four years ago and he was terminated. The last 'check' they gave him was cash and they had taken $200 out of it for his first payment. At the time, he only owed $600 minus the $200 taken from his paycheck. He called the labor board the day after he was fired and they said not to pay it. That was the last we heard of it until a week ago, which is almost four years after the incident. Does the statute of limitations protect him?
