Clocked by an officer on Route 80-Morris County (Mount Olive Municipality) doing 87 in a 65 zone in the left lane. When the officer pulled me over I was in the center lane between two cars doing the speed limit. He issued me a summons but for body type he wrote 2 door. My car is a 4 door. Is there any possible way I can contest this in court? Also I thought it was legal to speed up to pass someone?

To make this more confusing the back of the summons has a court date but the red box that says "court appearance required" is not checked, there isnt a fine amount on it either.

Q: Is there any possible way I can contest this in court?

A: Yes; but based solely on the facts as you have given them, you have no defense.
