Hello all. Is it a waste of time to try and talk to a DA about my case? I have a misdemeanor case in which I found something and the police came to my house and I gave it to them. Long story short, I went to a preliminary, DJ passed it on to district court. I cannot afford the $6000 that an attorney wants plus the attorney said that I would have to prove 12 jurymen/women without a doubt that I am innocent, and that if I dont convince them that I am innocent, we have to start all over again. I cannot afford this because of bills/college/other education courses.

I talked to several cops around my area and most of them said to try and talk to the DA about my case and see what he/she can do. I want to become a LEO and I have a physical test coming up next month for a PD in another state. Is it worth my time to talk to the DA? Thanks for any advice. :)

If you talk to the prosecutor, just remember that anything you say can be used against you.
