Technicality: Stop Sign vs Red Signal?

I was pulled over after turning right at an intersection with a stop sign in the state of Maryland. There is no overhead traffic signal at this intersection.

My citation is for:

21-202(i)(1)Fail to Stop at Red Signal Befrore Right Turn

Is the above charge valid for an intersection lacking an overhead traffic signal. Does a stop sign count as a "red signal"?

Another option on the citation, which was not circled by the officer leads me to believe there is a distinction between the two:

21-707(i)Failure to Stop at Stop Sign

Is this grounds to have this thrown out on a technicality? I have photos of the intersection showing the street name and that only a stop sign is present. Also, part of the problem is that I plan on being several hundred miles away on vacation the day of my court case. (Any suggestions?)

Thanks in advance!

Maryland offers a probation before judgment. Go by the court and try to get it taken care of before you leave or get a continuance.

Do I have legal grounds to plead not guilty to the offence I am charged with since it erferences a "red signal", and there is no traffic light, just a stop sign?
