My son and wife are seperated and would like to place their two children with us withtemporary custody/gaurdianship. What do we need to do? Is this order valid if drawn in New Jersey and the child reside with us in Pennsylvannia?

Do BOTH parents wish to give you "temporary guardianship", or just one?
If you do decide to do this, don't do it with a notarized document.
You should go to court in the child's home state (guess that is NJ) and seek a court order.

If both parents agree, and you're the grandparents, this should be relatively easy to accomplish.
Nevertheless, I'd speak to an attorney in NJ to ensure everything is on the "up and up".

How long will you be expected to be the child's legal guardian?
Why do the parents wish to do this?
