I was the respondent in an Allocation of Parental Responsibilities case and my son's father didn't follow through with the discovery and obtaining the expert advise ordered in the Temporary Orders within the required 90 days. I was contacted by one of his friends who proceeded to tell me that there are drugs and/or alcohol being used while my son is there visiting so I tried to file a contempt of court and reduction of parenting time. I filed the paperwork last week and got a call from the courts today saying the case was dismissed because he failed to do the discovery, etc.

SO I filed a new case today, but need to know if the temporary orders are still in effect considering the case is now closed. I don't want my son going to his house in light of the things his friend told me. Do I have to let him go as it is stated in the Temporary Orders?

Thanks for your help.

Give us a timeline on when all this happened.

The temporary orders were signed by the judge on February 1 and the case was dismissed on May 4. I talked to his friend last Monday, filed the contempt charges on Wednesday and re-filed the case today.
