Tenant died - apartment access

My tenant died at the hospital. She lived alone, but has family.
How do I determine who gets access to her apartment?
If someone shows up asking for keys, what kind of documentation do I ask for?

With luck, this tenant has a will listing the person they designated as the executor of the estate or ....at the very least, an advance directive for financial decisions, again specifically designating someone to be able to handle these issues.

I'd ask for either of these documents.

P.S. The latter might also be known as a Power of Attorney for Legal/Financial Matters.
