Tenant just left with no notice

My jurisdiction is: Kansas

It appears that my tenant has vacated the property without any notification. He has requested the utilities be turned off. When can I legally enter the property.

If you feel more comfortable, you can go through the time and expense of getting a formal eviction but frankly, if the utilities have been shut off, it's a good assumption that the tenant has abandoned the unit.

Many landlords would tell you to go in because...oh my!...neighbors report they smell gas. You're likely to find the keys to the place on the kitchen counter.
