I am currently renting a house in Montana. When I moved into the house we had a dishwasher that has since not been working correctly. It leaks a lot of water but still runs. We have contacted our landlord and the owner refuses to repair the dishwasher because he says that he is not required to. Montana state law says that and I quote "Lanlord shall maintain in good and safe working order and condition all electrical, plumbing, sanitary, heating, ventilating, air-conditioning, and other facilities and appliances, including elevators, supplied or required to be supplied by the landlord." The last year that the dishwasher was manufactured was 1979. It has not been working properly for years now but until recently they would say that they were thinking about it. What options do I have? And am I correct in my assessment of the montana law? or do I have no rights concerning this topic?
