Tenant vs Tenant dispute

Every day, the residents above me are make very loud noises. Noises coming from the television, the video game, an easy chair or walking hard. He banged on my door and asked if i could turn my music down and i complied, then i asked that he turn his the volume down. Today, i asked if he could turn it down and he stated "3pm in the afternoon, no", then slammed the door. How should i handle this? Emme, NJ

Walking hard? Noises from a TV, video game, and easy chair? You are overreacting. This person has a right to enjoy their apartment. If you can't stand being able to hear them at all, buy a house or rent a house. You might also move to a top floor apartment. As long as you have someone living over you, you are going to be able to hear them.

It does appear you might ber overacting to this. However in the effort to be fair has the Landlord heard this noise as well? If it seems to be excessive let the Landlord hear it and be the Judge
