Tenants and Drugs

I have neighbors (who are renters) who recently got arrested for dealing marijuana inside that residence. I heard that the landlord has no intention of evicting them. Is this legal?

Is what legal?

Obviously selling the drugs isn't.

That the landlord chooses not to evict them is.

This may all change if the tenants end up in prison for this drug selling.
