tennant is using surveillance camera on other tennants at only gate

I live in an apartment complex of 8 units. my neighbor (other tenant) has video camera aimed at only (front) gate. is this legal? without my consent? PLEASE HELP! (I know the camera guy and another neighbor are looking for ways to get me evicted due to recent trouble/argument with the another tenant) HELP ~~please

Cameras are prolific these days, heck even the all powerful gubmint has cameras.
You could discuss this with the property owner.
I don't see anything illegal, but I'm not in California.
All you have to do is follow all laws, and the camera is meaningless.
I'm sure some Cali law expert will saunter or sashay shortly in and offer a more sage and reasoned response.

Nothing illegal as you describe it.
There are many cameras that record you every day that you don't even know about.
If you don't want to be recorded then don't go into public places.
