I was fired from a nursing from a nursing home for improper use of a hoyer lift, I had the resident hooked to the hoyer before the second person came in. they say there was an investigation but the person who helped me said she was never questioned about it. I was allowed to work for most of the next morning before being fired. do I have any kind of case against this?

In at will employment you can be terminated at any time for any reason except a reason prohibited by law (examples religion, race, gender....) or unless you have a CBA or binding employment contract to the contrary.

This was not a wrongful termination based on what you posted. They didn't have to talk to the other person or maybe they did & she said they didn't. Are you in a union (have a CBA)? If so, talk to your union rep.

You will need to look for other employment & file for unemployment ins. The state will decide if you qualify for it.

Good luck.

Agree (sorry but that's it) & the state will decide if you qualify for it as I noted above. Definitely file for it.
