I was terminated from a job that I loved and worked at for 15 years by a manager that was there for about 1 year. We never got along and I was constantly trying to make things work. While we were short staffed I worked many days without taking a lunch break, worked extra hours and the manager would tell me to break up the hours and put in on other days and constantly adjust the schedule so I would not get paid overtime because her boss was very strict on adhereing to not paying overtime. So if I worked one day till 5pm she told me it was ok to put down 7pm on my time sheet. This happened several times and I would call her on the cell phone to remind her she owed me time and she would just say go ahead and put it down on the timesheet. I trusted her because she was the manager regardless of our differences. In the past week or two I decided I could not work like this and contacted her manager twice to speak to her about the whole situation but I would have to wait until her schedule cleared up. My manager knew about me contacting her boss.. Well my manager had me terminated 2 days ago with a hr representative present and fired me for reporting my time incorrectly on the system and showed me pictures and time stamps of when I actually left. It was unbelievable to me that this lady would lie and would throw me under the bus after I have been there 15 years and worked my butt off to try to please her by when asked to cover for other managers in their branches, and open and close the banking center when she could not. I have never been on a final warning or there is no communication log in my folder that she spoke to me about this issue. I even spoke to the asst manager about it and when I asked him to say something he said he cannot get involved because he did not want to make any waves with the manager. As of right now I have opened a dispute resolution with the company and I am looking to get re hired in another branch or to get some kind of severance package. Playing devils advocate even if she started to get scared about our job relationship she should have wrote me up with a warning about inputting the correct time but she could not because she said it was ok and truthfully I just wanted to get paid so I can pay my rent. Any advice you can give me is appreciated.
