Terminated while still under WC doctors care

My jurisdiction is: Florida

A couple of months ago I was injured on the job. The company sent me to their Workmans Comp doctor who refered me to a specialist. The specialist took control of my care and I have additional appointments and possible surgery scheduled.

Last week I was terminated by job elimination, can they do that while I am still under WC doctors care?
 
if it was a standard lay off and there were others that were part of the lay off, then yes, they can do that
 
was yours the only job 'eliminated'....i had 'assumed in my 1st response that there were others that may have been 'laid off' as well, if this is not the case, then you may have a eeoc/disability case if you feel you were 'terminated' due to your disability. your employer would use the 'excuse' of 'job emliniation' believing that would cover them, and it would, if there others who also faced the same fate. however, if you were the only one and you were singled out, then you may have a case to file with eeoc
