I sold my house in California five days after it was listed. The closing took placel six weeks later and no legal papers were filed with the county assessor until after I was paid net proceeds from the sale of my house.
I was told by my realtor and a sheriff that I was no longer a legal resident of that county or the state of California as soon as I signed the Purchase Contract. Another person, who has been harassing me for eight years and who is the reason I sold my house and moved to another state, says that I was a legal resident of the county and state of California until the day I received the net proceeds.
Who is right?
