As citizens of a large, diverse, and free country we often disagree.
It is satisfying to know that young men and women, even older men and women, still step up to serve our nation, states, and local communities.
Thank you to the brave men and women who officially became Texas State Troopers this past Friday.
I'm grateful to have been born in the greatest nation on the face of this planet.
My wife and I were traveling through Europe, 10-12 years ago.
We were sitting in a small outdoor Cafe in Britain.
A young man approached and asked me, "Are you Americans?"
I smiled and said, "Son, we're both Texans."
He chuckled, and said, "You've got a sense of humor."
On that note, I'm happy to know that people still volunteer to serve their communities by wearing the badge.
