We have a rent house that the tenant moved out owing over $1500. When checking the house, out stoved was removed and was sitting in the backyard in pieces. There was another stove in place and assumed it was left as a replacement. Two days later Rent A Center called and wanted their stove back that had been rented by the tenant. As the landlord are we responsible to give it back since ours is now unusable? Texas

Your stove is sitting in the backyard in pieces so you cannot claim ownership on the one that is taking its place in the kitchen. Return the stove to Rent-A-Center and go after your tenant in small claims court to recover your damages and past due rent. Good Luck
