I Recently Got My Car Repaired At All Tune & Lube And The Owner Totally Screwed Me. He Fixed Things On My Car That I Did Not Authorize, And Now He Will Not Give Me My Car Back Unless I Pay Him. I Just Found Out That He Doesn't Have A License In The City Of Houston. What Does That Mean? What Will Happen With My Car? What Are The Penalties For Him Working On My Car Without A License? If Any Body Has Any Advise, Comments, Or Has Infomation That Will Be Helpful, Please Reply Or Send Me An E-mail.

You may want to send him a fax/written communication certified or overnight mail stating what you are writing here that his work was completely unauthorized and that you have discovered he misrepresented to have been licensed. Demand the immediate return of your car of else you will go to the police and report a theft. You may want to offer to pay him for reasonable work authorized as a compromise to settle -- but in the letter state that the offer to pay for work authorized is not evidence that can be used in court and is a settlement negotiation only, pursuant to state law. Separate that statement from the rest of the letter in case you need to use it in court. Hopefully it will never get that far.
