Hi. I'm from Miami, Florida. About four years ago my friend signed over a CD to me in my name. I was supposed to recieve it upon her death. The last two years she became very ill and her sister took over as power attorney. In October her sister(power of attorney) went to the bank and had a fit and the bank ended up letting her cash it in. Is that legal? The CD was in my name and it was given to me before she beacame power of attorney. Should the bank be held responsible? Help I need to know.:(

Oh yes, you have a great case. :o
If I were you, I'd hotfoot it to a good lawyer.
I'd bring all my supporting documentation when I go.
I'd arrange for the lawyer to take a percentage of the CD as his/her fee.
Then I'd await the day the bank gives me back what they gave to someone else.
Just to be safe, I'd sue both the bank and Cruella DeVille that scammed the bank out of YOUR assets!
