Stupid

New Member
I have used my company to ship out items for myself. Seems they caught on and are now questioning the shipments. Items were sent out via UPS and probably total between $200-300 in shipping costs over a two month period.

Can anyone tell me what criminal offense this would fall under and what my immedate and long term options are at the moment?

I have thought of resigning in the next day or two in hopes of minimizing the issue. Not something I am looking forward to, but I brought it on myself.

Any information and suggestions would be most welcome.

If they've confronted you with it, I'd immediately offer to pay the charges. You're going to get fired anyway, at least paying the charges may save you from criminal charges. I'm thinking petty/grand larceny, depending on the amount.

follow up

I do understand that, stupid me, no doubt. I would be more than happy to pay back the money (it was more an issue of ease than money, in terms of mailing items out). But let's say they go the legal route. What can I expect/what will I be looking at?

Thanks again.

Hard to say, if I had to guess (and I do), probably restitution, fine, court costs, probation/community service.

heya "stupid"

You could also be charged in some states with embezzelment. Let me know what has transpired since your last submission.
