Theft of $2000

I was going to rent this condo for a year, but ended up not going through with it. I sent the person $2000 for first months and the deposit. The only form i signed was the application. i have proof i sent them the money. When i decided i didn't want to rent the place, i called them up and asked for my money back. They refused to give it back to me. Do i have a case?

What do the papers you signed say about it? And what is your jurisdiction?

You might consider posting this in the landlord/tenant forum as well. It's not really a small claims matter.
