Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Theft through discounts

I was recently terminated from an employer I had been with for over a year. I was called in to speak with my DM and LP, after a long drawn out casual conversation the questions started in. I was being accused of stealing product from customers, stealing cash from registers, and giving away merchandise. I denied all of that, so they pursued on the grounds that I gave discounts to customers, I explained I discounted on defective merchandise which is our policy to do so. LP even admitted on several claims that I did not create a loss for the company but after speaking with my DM they decided to pursue under the impression that I gave member discounts to those who were not members and again I explained I did but for friends and family which is what we allow our customers to do and I am a customer as well and used my own member discount for friends and family. I was told they had proof of all I had done and how much of a loss I created for the company and I had two options, to do things the easy way or the hard way, the hard way I could be escorted out right now and taken to jail and deal with it that way, or admit to the discounts (which is all they had). I was handed a statement sheet and told what to write, (again, it was give statement or go directly to jail), we went back and forth on the total of discount and promotions given and came up with a sum of money that needs to be payed back and a payment plan was put together.

I think the loss on discounts is a load of crock, since I followed policies. I was an excellent employee and the next in line to receive my own store. I did as they asked and left with no fuss, but in this awesome economy it has taken me a month to find new employment and obviously I did not receive unemployment, I placed a call to LP, had to leave a voice-mail, as my payment date was coming up and explained I was set to start my new job but I would not be paid in enough time to make the due date but I would make a double payment the next due date to take care of that. I attempted everything, I sold what possessions I had to sell to make due for a month with no income as well as called family and friends to borrow the payment amount that was due to the company, but was unable to pull together the funds needed. I have not heard back from him after several attempts, during the statement process I was told if I miss a payment I would be arrested.

Thus comes my concern....

After multiple attempts to reach LP about the payment matter and getting nowhere fast, can I be arrested for missing the payment?

Does the threat of being taken to jail and "hashing things out" there count as an actual threat to make that statement null and void?

Also, is it legit to terminate and threaten arrest for discounts, when the employee clearly was not trying to "get away" with anything, and was following directions given by their superior?

For missing apayment no for the theft yes

No

If you can prove the discounts were legit then fight it in court if not then yes you can be charged and arrested

What kind of discounts are we talking about? Were they 50% discounts? A $100 item for $2?

Give us some more information on these supposed arbitrary discounts and then we can dig deeper into your case and assist you.

Nothing that dramatic, it was 10%. What we call a shop worn discount. I discounted merchandise that should have been thrown out or sent out to be refurbished. The store took in trade items and some of the items I sold with the shop worn discount of 10% were items we should not have taken in due to company policies, but other employees didn't seem to follow those trade rules so well. So instead of getting hit with a loss for the merchandise a customer wanted to buy them with a discount, which I gave. 10%

Other employees not following rules does not exempt you from action. Did the discounts need approval? Again it doesnt matter if others did it. I need to know if approval was required.

It all depends on whether or not you were authorized to do so. From the looks of it, they were out to make a case.

At anytime did any member of management tell you, go ahead and make a decision to keep the customer happy by offering these discounts? If so, you could be in the clear.
