I recently took 212 in merchandise but lp recovered it and they called the police and said i could expect a letter in the mail and it was not the store i worked at but a different store of the same name what will happen in the state of Michigan will i go to jail for this stupid first time offense

No jail, not a chance. They only want your money. It is possible your employment could be in jeopardy.

It is very likely your job is at risk. In fact its possible once your employer knows that LP will look more closely at your past transaction looking for theft. I work as a retail theft consultant and this would be the norm
