Threat of lawsuit from Craigslist buyer. Oregon

We listed a Chopsaw on Craigslist and started receiving calls. My husband spoke with someone who wasn't going to come for a few days. He said he would hold it for him. Without knowing that I had someone show up with cash and sold the saw. This guy is now harassing us with messages and now is threatening small claims action. Is a verbal agreement like this binding in Oregon?

Tell him to take you to court-- this guy needs a life!!! This is America and money talks & we have the freedom to hold stuff or sell stuff!!
