Threat of wrongful eviction

For the past year I have lived with the constant harassment from the tenant below me. Exceptionally loud music that knocks things over in my apt, beating on the ceiling which she knows terrorizes my toddlers, standing under my windows staring in and mouthing constantly, threats of physical danger, attempts at circulating a petition to get rid of me, etc.

This past weekend she provoked an argument outside and I finally snapped and yelled back at her. Several witnesses have come forward defending me, stating that I did nothing wrong, that the woman refused to back down.

Now the owner of the management company has said that if BOTH of us cannot "play together in the sandbox", we are both evicted. I have NO complaints in my file. I have done nothing wrong, to anyone on property. I get along with everyone else on property. Nobody has a bad word to say about me. The resident manager has nothing bad to say about me.

THere are no grounds whatsoever to evict me. What can I do to prevent living with the sound fear of eviction the next time this woman decides to be a "pest"?? I am the recipient of the harassment and endangerment yet I have to move out?!

I live locked in my apt now. The woman was standing on my toes spitting in my face gearing up to hit me over the weekend. She followed when I tried to run. She has waited for me to emerge from my apt since. THe police won't help unless she does something. I cannot even go outside, I cannot stay inside peacefully--even right now she has the music on and she knows what the owner said.

Can I truly be evicted over this????

Until you are served with eviction papers you have no wrries. Evictions are a court process and must be certain guidelines. Google your states rental laws and become familar with them in case. In meantime document everything neighbors does take video pictures etc. If she makes threats of violence or harm to your property yes Police can do something. Now are you on a lease or month to month? This is important

You cannot be evicted without a court order...but why would you wish to continue living there? From your description, I'd be looking for a safer and quieter place to live.
