Threw out my stuff no notice?

Sixty days before my lease was up, I gave my apartment notice that on 3/16/2024 My roommate and I would no longer be in #101. I was going to transfer into a single bedroom and my roommate was moving out completely. After finally getting my new lease for #402 after over a month of back and forth, my move in date was 2/29/2024 for a newly renovated apartment. I confirmed with multiple managers and leasing specialist that my original lease was still effective and my roommate and I were still in #101 until the original move out date of 3/16/24. On 2/28/24, I received a phone call in the afternoon from the office stating #402 would not be ready for 4 more days. They refused to accommodate me for the money lost from the movers. Finally on 07/03/2024 I receive the keys to #402. Upon entering, there are cockroaches everywhere, an awful smell, the AC was frozen, the unit was not renovated as promised, as well as many damages throughout. I put in a service request right away for the roaches and the frozen AC. The next day I receive a message as follows "AC works great. set to 68 on 67." Nothing was done about the roaches and I was forced to fix the AC myself prior to them arriving. Later I discovered I was charged a "prorated" rent for 2/29 and 2/30 when I was not allowed in #402 at the time. It was also more than it should have been based on the dates. While all things from the move were annoying, the real legal issue begins on 7/10/2024. As stated before, verbally and written consent was given that #101 I shared with a roommate was still in my name and available to me until 3/16/24. On 3/09/24, I enter #101. The door was unlocked and every light was on. This is concerning because it is the second floor and every single window/door was locked. I was nervous to be in there alone and left until the roommate could come. Again, I went through and locked every door/window and shut off all lights. On 3/10/2024 my roommate arrived before me. He calls me stating the door was again, unlocked, all lights on, balcony door open, and his shoes and other belongs missing. The only otherpeople who have a key are the leasing office and maintenance. He was upset and leaves, locking all doors/windows and we go back on 3/11/24. Again every light on, door unlocked, this time however, the entire apartment is empty(including my late grandmothers ashes) and windows are open. I then check the portal, they mark our lease has ended and we moved out and listed #101as available online. Nothing was said to us before or after and we still have our keys. My question is, do we have any legal right as to them entering without permission or notice, getting rid of our belongings prior to moveout date, listing #101as available now, charging me for the unit they took away or the one I wasn't allowed in yet, or them not doing any pest control upon my request? What steps should I take?

Read the lease for the former unit.
Most, if not all, of your questiins/concerns will be forthcoming as/after you've READ THE Leases FOR 101 and 402.

However, don't expect the management company to what say, or remedy your conserns just because you complain, whine, moan, grain, or kvetch.

Do expect results, if you retain the legal services of an outstanding, local landlord/tenant attorney.

Furthermore, no one on this site can do anything to assist you but, offer you information.

Good luck.

I read both fully before signing, I also reread them both after the incident. It states they cannot enter without giving a 24 hr notice and that they are required to do pest control upon request AND monthly. Do you think I have enough grounds to get a lawyer or take them to small claims court?

I'm not entirely clear on the timeline. What happened in the 3-½ months between March 16th and July 3rd?

Sorry, the dates were changed for privacy/ peace of mind. (hence me saying 2/30 at one point) any july date should've been changed to march.

I suggest making a free, no obligation appointment with lawyers that offer a free initial consultation.
