I got a 'Fail to Stop at Stop sign' ticket in a civilian federal property issued by federal police (federal protective service). The stop sign is placed on the other side of the guard booth at the entrance path to the fenced in federal property. The stop sign is at a height of less than 5 feet. The sign itself is approximately at the eye height of a sitting driver in a sedan car. I was fined for $50 with unknown number of points. The gate was open and I thought the guard was OK for me to drive through. What chance do I have to successfully repeal this ticket because of a (possible) illegal stop sign? Thanks.

Federal property doesn't have to follow the same rules. Their signs can be 2' off the ground if that's what they want them to be, just visit any military base.
