My jurisdiction is: NY
A few weeks ago I sold some extra tickets to a "friend" to an event that my girlfriend and I had purchased. The person that we sold the tickets to agreed to the price we asked for which was a bit lower than the price we actually paid. The internet dealer we purchased the tickets from printed the "face value" of the tickets which is considerably lower than what they charged us which caused the other party to think that's how much the tickets are actually worth. The person is now filing a claim against us because she thinks we lied about the price of the tickets. We are not by any means a professional ticket dealer or an establised company, but we were just trying to help a friend out that badly wanted to go to the event. What's worse, we spotted this person and their friends at the event sitting in the seats we sold them even though they are trying to take us to court for them. what can we do?
