I recieved a notice in the mail december 08 that in february i would not be able to renew my license. I called on it and it seems to be that i got a ticket for no inspection like march 13 2003. I do admit i have recieved a lot of tickets in this county but I was positive I took care of all of them including at one time a no inspection ticket........ so they are trying to say i have a failure to appear and a no inspection citation against me if this is true then i have recieved many more tickets since then the year 2003 was bad for me i was fresh out of high school ....... so if i had a failure to appear ... why didnt any one els pick up on it while pulling me over ...... regardless i have grown up a lot since then and yet have prolly recieved 1 - 2 tickets since then maybe in 2005 - 2006 why wasnt it picked up on then ?? I have heard nothing from these people until now ...... right after a horrible hurricane that tore the county to shreads ...... i almost feel they are just trying to get money i only owe them 500.00 so they say ...... i have no proof to show i got the ticket taken care of nor doieven have that vehicle any more...... is there any way i can prove i had a valid inspection ?? can they come after me 5 yrs later after hearing nothing?

Likewise, I have a ticket from 4.5 years ago - I lost the ticket, and contacted the court to ask how to proceed, they said over the phone that the matter is closed. In hindsight, I should have asked for paperwork showing this.

Does the statue of limitations apply? Is it normal for the total lack of communications for more than 4 years and then demand a fine to be paid within a week?
