Own a timeshare in San Francisco County, CA. I have not paid property taxes recently due to clerical issues (on both sides). Now it is due to go to auction...

I've tried to sell this property without success. I'm willing to 'write it off', but if this goes to auction - will this affect my credit rating?

The property is paid in full and my maintenance fees with the timeshare company are currently up-to-date. If the property is sold at auction - I should have no further obligations to the timeshare company or the County tax office in the future - correct?

Thanks for your time and feedback.

If the property sells for an amount equal to or greater than your tax liability, your financial obligation is dissolved.

If it sells for less, you're still on the hook for the delta!

Will it affect your credit record, who knows what those wacky credit bureaus will fo?
