Title holder of car but exgirlfriend has car and not making payments

My ex-girlfriend has a car that I put in my name. It was bought in 2006 with the understanding that she would make all payments. We are now broken up. She is not making payments and the creditor keeps calling me because her nonpayments show up in my name and therefore on my credit history. Do I have the legal right to just go and get the car? How could it be turned over to her and my name cleared from the finances. Please help!

Yes, you are the one legally responsible for the account-- go get the car. In order for you to be removed the account it has to be paid in full by your girlfriend refinancing it into her name or by you selling it and paying the balance in full.
