I was recently towed from my friend's apartment complex in downtown Baltimore (which I admit I parked without a permit for a short period of time)
When I arrived to recover my vehicle, I was told that I had to pay $284.30 in cash only, with exact change. Frustrating in itself, but not my main issue.
When I returned home, I realized that there was several personal effects in the back of my truck that were missing. I know for a fact they were there before my car was towed, and can only assume someone at the towing company or the tow truck driver stole them.
On top of that, there is now a large dent in the top of my vehicle that I know for a fact was not there before the tow either. There is no other way this could have happened because where I park at both home and work are in open areas with absolutely no trees or other debris that could have fallen on top nearby.
Do I have a case against the towing company?
