Tractor Not Picked Up

A guy gave me $1000 in cash for an old JD Tractor I have in the yard. This was a year and a half ago. I don't have the guys phone number or even remeber his name. If I resell the tractor to get it out of my yard, will the original purchaser have any claim against me? I'm thinking if he really wanted it, he would have picked it up by now. Thanks!

What was the agreement? Did you give him title? I assume not. You should probably exhaust reasonable efforts to locate this person before you consider selling the tractor - and obviously then giving the current owner the proceeds. Hard to believe that people will part with their money so easily... but this is a good problem to have!
