I heard that a judge, in Tampa Florida, can dismiss a traffic citation if the name in the ticket is not written properly, is this true? If this is true and the ticket is due to a crash, is the insurance still liable?

There are a lot of reasons a traffic ticket can be dismissed and no one can say what a particular judge will do on a particular day. The dismissal may give the insurance company a reason (like they really need one) to deny the claim and then you will have to sue.

I suggest that you contact the court in writing and request that you be notified of the trial date so you can be a witness. Then keep up with it.
