The state or country I am talking about is: Florida

On 7/8/03, I had a transmission replaced in a Ford Windstar Van which cost $1800.00 from a recommended transmission repair shop. The receipt indicated a 12 month 12,000 mile soft part warranty.

On 12/23/04, while driving the van, the vehicle stopped running. I called my auto mechanic who had it towed to his business. The mechanic indicated that the transmission had failed and had it towed to a transmission repair shop. Upon inspection of the transmission, the repair shop indicated that the fluid lines that run to the planetaries were not properly installed and fell into the pan. These lines provide the fluid that lubricate the planetaries, and the result was that the planetaries in my transmission over heated and failed. The brackets that secure the lines were not present in the transmission when the vehicle was brought in.

Subsequently I replaced this transmission at a cost of $1792.10.

I am wondering if there is any chance of recovering a portion of the original cost of replacing the transmission due to faulty workmanship?
