unauthorized charges made to credit card

charges were made to my credit card that I did not authorize, I was served a summons and had a civil pre-trial order today. I was told that it was going to be a non jury trial, when I asked about having a jury I was told that I was suppose to request it within 21 days of receiving my summans. I had no idea that is what I was suppose to do. What do I do now?
