I was recently arrested and taken to jail for underage consumption. I was at my house, where a party was being thrown. I jumped off of my front porch to grab the lighter that fell off of the ledge and was arrested by two officers. They told me that I was being arrested for underage drinking and trying to run. When I explained to them I was only looking for my lighter they didn't believe me and took me straight to the car.
My rights weren't read to me, I didn't admit to anything when they asked if I had been drinking, they didn't test me, and when I got to jail I was never given my first phone call. I waited in lockdown for 9 hours before I had the chance to make a phone call. I didn't know until I got to community that they had planned on keeping me in jail for 3 days until I went to court.
I bonded myself out, and my court date was set for Oct. 1st.
This is my first offense. I'm only nineteen and have no idea where I should go from here.
I need a little help.
