Do I qualify for Unemployment benefits? While on the clock was given a directive from a senior staff member to file his clients taxes back in April. I noted my objection verbally several times. He insisted it get done that weekend. I told him and the client that I was going to charge him. It is something he could could go to HR Block to do. I went to school for accounting and they both were depending on my experience and knowledge. I charged the client who is over the age of 18 in a placement program. Near the end of June that same client was no longer a client of the program and came by and I received a money order for 35 dollars. A few days later i was fired even though I offered up various solutions to rectify the situation and returned the money order to my supervisor.

Only the states can say for absolute sure who qualifies for unemployment benefits, and they won't do so until you file a claim. It costs nothing but a few minutes of your time and there is no penalty for being wrong. I absolutely do not understand why people believe they cannot apply unless they have been assured that they qualify.

This was not a wrongful termination based on what you posted. However, that certainly doesn't mean you will not receive UI benefits. You should always apply - the state will decide if you qualify. There is no way for us to know for sure if you will qualify or not.

Why of course YOU qualify for UI bennies.
Tell them at the state agency that the old idiot on an Internet law (THEY CALLS ME AJ) forum assured you, you MOST DEFINITELY qualify.
