Hello,

I was recently hired at a job that stated Salary plus commission, yet was told and made to sign a document in my employment packet that states we aren't paid our salary until we complete the two week training period. On the last day of my two week training the owner told me to leave.

Not drugs/alcohol or sexual harassment, he just got mad at me and told me to leave.

Since I was never paid by the company but was fired can I file for unemployment pay against them?

If I can, I do have a witness as the other salesperson hired at the same time as I voluntarily quit 60 seconds or less after I walked out of the room. So he seen the whole thing if they wanted to challenge it and do a mediation I could have him present as we are friends to vouch for me and my statements.

Thank you for your responses,

Rebirth

The salary was 32,000/annually plus commissions if that is necessary information.

Anyone, at any time is free to apply for unemployment. You have to work so many weeks to be eligible. Two weeks isn't enough weeks. But, go ahead and apply and see what happens.

Well if two weeks isn't enough than there is no point in applying as I will be denied.

Thanks for the response though.

Don't give up so fast.
If you had prior employment, you might have enough weeks.
In fact, since you were never paid on the most recent job, you might be wise NOT to mention it.
If you've had other employment RECENTLY, you might have enough credit built up from that work to receive UI benefits.
