I was recently laid off from my job of ten years and was receiving unemployment compensation. I started a new job about a month after receiving my benefits and I thought everything was alright. Unfortunately, the job did not work out. The work I was assigned was beyond my realm of knowledge and I was made to do tasks I was not being compensated for, plus I was misled about the health benefits. I was told there were full benefits and it ended up being an extremely limited plan. I decided to voluntarily quit the position due to these issues. I was working alone in the office due to the Doctor and Office Manager being out of town so I left a note stating a would not be coming back and the reasons why. I was told that if the Doctor knows you do not want to work there she would rather you just leave with no questions asked. While I was employed there two other people also quit. It was not a very well structured office, completely mismanaged. My question is though I refiled for my unemployment benefits and was told everything seemed alright, however today I found out that my claim is under review because I voluntarily quit. I only worked there for 25 days and did not earn anywhere near the required amount to claim off of that employer. I understand that it will go back to the previous employer who laid me off originally, so can the Doctor disable me from receiving benefits just because it is her word against mine, because I am sure she is not going to state that her office was anything less than an impeccable place to work. What are my chances of receiving my earned unemployment benefits again? Appreciate any advice!!!
