On my current job, I am supervised by two people - Mrs X and Mr Y (who also supervises Mrs X). For a few years now, I have had a strained relationship with Mrs X who is my immediate supervisor. It all started when Mrs. X decided our department needed to hire some help, when actually she was the one who wanted the extra help. Since she wouldn't have enough work for the new person, the solution was to take half of my work load give it to the new person. I told her if that happened I wouldn't have much to do during the work week. Her response was "We'll find something". Well, I'm still waiting for that something. I put in 40 hours a week and actually only work about 15 to 20. This makes me very uncomfortable. We finally had a discussion about "my attitude" and I told her again that I don't have enough work to do and that I had worked for the company long enough to be treated a little better than I was being treated, but I feel like nothing has come from this discussion. Throughout this time my work has never suffered. I'm beginning to feel uncomfortable, like one of us may have to go and I'm the low man on the totum pole. Can a person be fired if they don't get along with a co-worker/supervisor?
