Today, Sunday, I witnessed my manager giving one of my co-workers his paycheck. Our payday is on Mondays, when everyone gets their paycheck. When I addressed my co-worker, he said he got it early because he didnt work the next day, saying he didnt want to drive all the way to work to pick it up. I then went to speak to my manager about it, asking for my paycheck. I was refused my paycheck and was told everyone had to wait until tomorrow (payday).
This seems a bit illegal. Is this right or is there anything that can be done about this? I work in fast food.

Yes, you have two options, wait until the posted payday, or quit.

If you continue to make waves over it, you'll probably be fired.

Ditto. All that matters is that yours is available the date indicated. Whether and why someone else gets their check on a different day does not matter.

To YOU it may not seem fair but it is not illegal. Where I worked, you could get your paycheck early if you would not be there on payday.
