Hi,
I have questions about a recent ticket that my son got. He came up on some traffic being directed by an officer the other night, there was some sort of event going on at the church and the officer was trying to direct all the traffic into the church parking lot and some that were going straight, my son changed lanes to get into the lane that turned left so he could go to the interstate to head home....as he approached the officer, he appeared to be motioning him on, or so my son thought, he went on through the intersection and made his left turn,
in a moment, he saw blue lights, he was being pulled over. The officer wrote him a citation for failure to obey an officer. He was very rude , and yelling at him. My son is 18yrs. old and has only been driving since March of this year. He tried to explain to the officer that he thought the other officer was motioning him thru, but he did not want to hear any thing he had to say.
The officer told him if he went to the DA before the court date , he may be able to get it reduced to an infraction.
My question is there a possibility that if if we get a lawyer, do you think we could get this thrown out?
Any responses and advice are welcome.
