Alright, well this is a stereotypical situation of which my friend and i were caught "shop-lifting" from a local Walmart.
The only thing is, we hadnt left the store. or made an attempt to do so. Not to mention i didnt have anything on me, in my hands, or in my pockets. My friend however did. He had around 40$ worth of items in the pockets of his jeans and shortly after he put them there, we were escorted to a back room.
From there they asked us to put everything we had on the table, even if they were actally ours. So we did, and they werent really paying attention i suppose, because they were so excited about having caught us.
a little while later, two police officers arrived and started writing the papers. i made it clear that nothing that was on the table of mine, belonged to the store. yet they put that i had taken everything that my friend had.
thats the first portion i'm not sure about.
the second, is when i arrived to the court house for my said date, the judge asked if i had commited any crimes before. i hadnt. so he gave me, without asking any further questions, a paper that had information to a class that you can take for 250$ to have the crime thrown out.
Well i dont have the 250$ to spend on a class, as i have bills to pay. and as a 19 year old still in school (next year is my last) jobs really dont pay that well.
Now when i go, i know ahead of time that i will either have to plead guilty, or not guilty right then.
i wont be given the chance to ask for a public defender and i doubt that it will be continued.
thats the second problem. i'd appreciate it if someone could help me with these, by giving me a little positive advice. If you have any questions, or need clearifying, just say so.
thanks,
Corey.
