I lived in an apartment in Oregon From 1/30/2002 - 3/1/2008. Obviously I was there for quite some time. While I was there, I had many maintenance issues. I had a leaking garbage disposal for about three of the years that I lived there. I put in many work orders, but it never was. The apartment also had a mold problem that caused my asthma to become increasingly worse. Upon move out, they are sending me an extraordinary bill for damages. They are charging me $450.00 to repaint. The only problem with the walls when I moved out was the black stains the heaters left on the walls. I tried to remove it with bleach and it wouldn't. They are charging me $375.00 for damaged cabinets which was damaged by the leaking disposal they never fixed. They are also charging me $375 to replace countertops they were going to replace anyway. Also among the charges is a $160.00 general cleaning charge. After 6 years of occupancy, can this be done and how can I dispute these charges?
